As hopefully everyone knows, our Community Covenants and Regulations require each homeowner to obtain approval from the Architectural Committee prior to any changes being made to the exterior of the home. This process is intended to ensure the initial architectural design, including the attractive Williamsburg detailing, and property values within our community are upheld. While not all inclusive, the following is a list of several of the most common improvements that require approval:
  • exterior painting of any kind (even if planning to use the same colors)
  • replacing rear patio sliding door
  • replacing windows
  • replacing shutters
  • replacing cedar shakes on front overhangs
  • replacing roof or rear shingles
  • replace or repair of rear or common fencing
  • extending or replacing a patio
Also, all NEW fence or shed construction now requires a building permit from Upper Providence Township prior to the start of construction. No permit will be required for any shed or fence maintenance or modification. When a permit is required, the Township will not approve any permit for fence or shed construction without a written letter of architectural approval from the Roboda Community Association. Please plan your installation projects accordingly. For information regarding township permits, the Sites of Interest portion of the Website contains a link to the Upper Providence Township Website. Also, the township's Construction Permit Application and Fence Requirements can be found here.

If you are wondering if your project needs approval; have questions about the community standards or architectural specifications; or a general question about the process, please contact any member of the Architectural Committee or Community Association Board (see New Resident Newsletter for names and phone numbers of Committee and Board members).
